INTRODUCTION:
1.1 Background:

The Right to Information Act, 2005 has been enacted and received assent of the President
of India on 15th June, 2005. The main objective of the Right to Information Act, 2005 is to
provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens to secure
access of information under the control of Dy. Director, District Treasury, Srikakulam, in
order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every Treasury Office in
the District.

1.2 Objective / Purpose of this information hand book:
The Objective of the hand book is to provide:

a) Information as regards, organizations, functions and Duties of Treasury unit of Srikakulam
District.

b) The powers and duties of officers and employees of Treasury Unit of Srikakulam District

c) The procedure followed in the decision making process Including channels of supervision
and accountability.

d) The norms set by the Government for the discharge of Functions of Treasury

e) The rules, regulations, instructions, Mandals and records held By Treasury or under the
control of Treasury or used by the
Employees of Treasury for discharging functions of Treasury.

f) A statement of the categories of documents that are held by the Treasury or under its
control.

g) A directory of officers & employees of Treasury unit of Srikakulam District.

h) The monthly remuneration received by each of the Officers and employees of Treasury
unit of Srikakulam District.

i) Details of in respect of information available to or held by the Treasury reduced in an
electronic form

j) The names and designations and other particulars of the Public informations officers

Citizens, Civil Society Organizations, Public representatives, Officers and Employees of
public authorities including Public Information Officers and Assistant Public Information
Officers and Appellate Officers, Central and State Information Commissions etc
